FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Clear answers to the most common questions from parents

1 At what temperature does a baby have a fever?

Fever is considered from 38°C measured in the armpit. Between 37°C and 38°C it is called low-grade fever. In children under 3 months, any fever requires urgent medical evaluation.

2 How many times a day should a newborn poop?

It is very variable. Some babies poop after each feed, while others can go several days without. The important thing is that the stools are soft and the baby is comfortable.

3 When should I take my child to the emergency room?

Go if the child has high fever that does not respond to antipyretics, difficulty breathing, is very lethargic, has skin spots that do not disappear when pressed, vomits blood or green bile, or any baby under 3 months with fever.

4 Is it normal for my baby to spit up after eating?

Yes, spitting up is very common and normal in the first months. As long as the baby gains weight appropriately and is happy between feeds, it is usually not a cause for concern.

5 Should I alternate paracetamol and ibuprofen for fever?

It is not recommended as a general rule. Only under medical advice in specific cases. The most important thing is to hydrate well, keep the child comfortable and administer the correct dose according to their weight.
